We are currently seeking a Director, Indirect & Logistics for Beacon Roofing Supply to manage, design and lead the divisional category leads and teams within assigned categories and establish and implement short and long term strategies for continued cost reduction and value improvement. The person will be responsible for negotiating all major contracts and agreements within the category and delivering the best value to Beacon. The role will assist in developing the global supply chain team, driving world class performance and identifying and developing future supply chain leaders
The Responsibilities Include:
Negotiate the lowest total cost of ownership for indirect & logistics spend. Seek opportunities to leverage spend and volume and reduce future price increase risk. Establish appropriate and state of the art Indirect spend management practices at all Beacon facilities.
Work with the Chief Supply Chain Officer to develop and drive an overall efficient and effective strategy for the supply chain function within Beacon Roofing Supply.
Actively participate in the development of key strategic and tactical metrics that will provide near term and long term development and growth for Beacon Roofing Supply.
Leverage core capability within the division and company to drive year over year improvement in supply chain productivity, quality, working capital turns and material deflation.
Provide analytical support for supply chain projects, including data collection, data analysis, score carding and supplier market research.
Lead process improvements to address key program challenges and to increase our ability to deliver upon our commitments.
Conduct product trend analysis, supplier management, cost plan development and implementation; supply base development, performance tracking and reporting.
Responsibility for approximately $300M - $400M in spend.
Identify Strategic, preferred and development suppliers. Work with suppliers to improve value, quality, delivery, performance and technology solutions.
Oversee and drive the overall purchasing and procurement processes and build relationships that foster effective purchasing arrangements with key vendors for Beacon's five divisions.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Strategic sourcing experience within a Fortune 500 company or a leading consultancy or in any manufacturing operations or supply chain position is preferred. You should be considered a subject matter expert in sourcing and supplier management of indirect parts and services to include
MRO
Travel and entertainment
Tooling
Purchased services
Energy and communications
A minimum of 5 years' experience with large ($50MM+) and complex global MRO spend is required, preferably within the distribution industry.
Core skills must include contract negotiation, spend analysis and leadership through influence.
APICS CPIM or APICS CSCP certification is preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Systems, Sourcing, Purchasing, Business, Finance or related degree.
Proven leadership skills and process orientation.
Strong project management skills.
Demonstrated comfort level with both detailed tactical and strategic planning and implementation.
Strong ability to work in changing environment, see through complexity.
Demonstrate thought leadership and execute.
Strong influencing and coaching skills. Proven experience in developing and coaching a team.
Ability to be effective in a highly matrixed environment, to effectively communicate with and influence all levels of the organization and drive change.
Solid understanding of and experience with quantitative and qualitative analysis with financial analysis acumen.
Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and Access tools.
Understanding of strategic sourcing, process/supplier implementation and change management best practices preferred.
Knowledge of contract language is required.
Demonstrated successful experience in working in a demanding, high performance work environment and team oriented culture.
Must be able to think and act strategically, but also be willing to roll up sleeves within the purchasing function.
Up to 50% travel may be required.
