Reliable Results-Driven Technology Services (R2DTS) is seeking Linux Engineers at various levels to join our diverse teamAs a Linux Engineer, you will be responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and support of Linux-based systems across our organizationThe ideal candidate has a strong background in Linux server administration, and troubleshooting, and a passion for ensuring the reliability and security of our infrastructure
Responsibilities:
o Server Deployment and Maintenance:
Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and OpenStack On-Prep cloud to ensure optimal performance and reliability.o System Monitoring and Optimization:
Implement monitoring solutions to identify and resolve system issues proactivelyOptimize server performance and resource utilization.o Security:
Implement and maintain STIG and IAVA compliance to safeguard Linux systems.o Automation:
Implement and maintain ansible automation to streamline routine administrative tasks and improve efficiency.o User Management:
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control in accordance with security policiesEnsure proper authentication and authorization mechanisms.o Backup and Recovery:
Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical dataTest and validate backup procedures regularly.o Troubleshooting:
Investigate and resolve system and application issues promptlyCollaborate with other IT teams to address complex problems.o Documentation:
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and proceduresFacilitate knowledge transfer and training.o Collaboration:
Work closely with other IT professionals, including network administrators and software developers, to ensure seamless integration of systemsRequirements:
o Must have a current/active TS/SCI and be willing and able to pass a CI polygraph.o Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related fieldRelevant field experience acceptable in lieu of formal degree.o Proven experience as a Linux Administrator or similar role.o Strong proficiency in Linux server administration (preferably RedHat or CentOS).o Knowledge of shell scripting and automation tools (Bash, Python, Ansible).o Experience with virtualization technologies (OpenStack, KVM).o Experience with storage technologies (Ceph, Hadoop, NFS, Samba).o Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols. Solid understanding of STIG and IAVA compliance for Linux systems.o Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.o Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
