Availability Engineer, DC Engineering InfraOps Availability Critical Spares
The Availability team is looking for an experienced and motivated Availability Engineer (AE) to serve as a technical resource for the Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) Critical Spares Program.
The AE will be responsible for driving global projects and initiatives for the program, partnering with stakeholder teams to focus on the delivery of new features and tools that enhance AWS spare parts management.
If you like to interact with suppliers, customers and a diverse array of other stakeholders, track and analyze performance data, develop new processes and methods with outstanding data analysis skills, enhance and automate analytical reporting, have strong leadership ability and a proven capability to develop, we'd like to meet you.
This role requires in-depth analysis of large data sets and building effective models and forecasts.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter, have strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, has a strong customer focus, has experience working with multiple database technologies and reporting platforms, and is comfortable working with suppliers, customers and a diverse array of other stakeholders.
Your work will help ensure that DCEO can deliver high availability for AWS customers.
Key job responsibilitieso Track and manage spare parts lists for data center infrastructure equipment such as:
electrical panels, generators and air handling unitso Partner with DCEO to ensure spare parts recommendations are in line with approved standardso Manage relationships with a wide variety of global stakeholderso Communicate regularly with partners and customers, be available and customer focusedo Use various software tools to process, track, analyze and report on performance datao Develop new methods and procedures to standardize work both internally and with many other stakeholderso Design metric views and build effective data visualizationso Provide analytical support to improve quality and standard work resultsAbout the teamThe global DCEO Spares Team team is a sub-team within the InfraOps Availability Team that reports into the Data Center Engineering (DCE) organization.
This team is overall responsible for ensuring power and cooling critical spare parts recommendations are developed and followed and includes defining tooling requirements and process improvements.
We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
Herndon, VA, USA.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
