Senior Sales Manager

Join our team at the Washington Dulles Marriott Suites, operated by Pinnacle Hotel Management! We are seeking a dynamic sales professional to join us as the Senior Sales Manager at our beautiful full-service hotel in Herndon, VA.
Located just a short drive from Dulles International Airport in the Worldgate Shopping Center, the Washington Dulles Marriott Suites has great meeting space with lots of natural light, a full-service restaurant and bar, and all suite guest rooms.

POSITION SUMMARY This position requires strong negotiation skills and good judgment, as well as the ability to work well with other departments to maintain strong interpersonal relationships both inside and outside the hotel.
The Sr.
Sales Manager will analyze and estimate the total value of each piece of business and negotiate the best contract to achieve optimum revenue for the hotel while providing excellent guest service and meeting budgeted sales goals.
Essential Functions:
-Negotiates room blocks, room rates, function space, food and beverage prices and hotel services within approved departmental booking guidelines.
Confirms in writing to the client and all applicable hotel departments all group requirements via group sales contract, corporate rate agreement, or catering event order.
-Meet or exceed budgeted sales goals -Proactive sales - develop networking opportunities through active participation in community and professional associations, activities and events -Conducts a professional, thorough site inspection of the hotel with clients, exhibiting key features and benefits of the property -Calls on prospects to solicit business -Analyzes requirements of function, outlines available hotel facilities and services offered and quotes prices within revenue guidelines.
-Consistently and thoroughly communicates all details of group bookings to the Event Manager during the turnover process.
-Responsible for development, solicitation and regular maintenance of accounts in assigned market segments -Review daily status of business, schedules, priority assignments, booking and all information pertinent to the department operation; -Organize traces for follow-up and meet or exceed sales solicitation call goals as assigned by the Director of Sales -Monitor and handle all inquiry calls and leads on a timely basis; actively solicit and book business following hotel standards.
Ensure response times are within hotel and brand expectations.
-Assist in the in the planning and execution of monthly sales activities and promotions, including email blasts, blitzes, client events and annual sales solicitation day.
-Develop a full working knowledge of the operations of the hotel, including Food & Beverage, Guest Services and Reservations o Use your property computerized sales management system to manage the hotel business, including (but not limited to) creating contracts, generating reports, entering business, blocking space and building accounts.
Ensure all required reports are created on-time and accurate.
o Utilize resources such as ZoomInfo, Google, etc to identify new opportunities or changes in the market -Provide leadership and mentorship in the Sales Department both by setting a strong example and by being a helpful resource for both the Sales Manager and Sales Coordinator.
-Provide input on strategic decisions that affect the department.
-Attend meetings (i.
e.
revenue calls, GM funnel reviews, etc.
) and provide support to both the department and the hotel in the absence of the Director of Sales REQUIRED SKILLS AND TRAITS:
-Excellent communication skills, including writing and presentations -Outstanding customer service ethic and high expectation for quality -Excellent time-management skills and ability to delegate and handle multiple priorities -Ability to handle conflict and resolve situations in a logical win/win manner both for customer and hotel.
-Strong Leadership skills -Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
Strong understanding of some financial reports, including budgets, P&L and STAR.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE At least 3 years' experience in sales and/or a 2 or 4 year college degree Recommended Skills Accounting Coaching And Mentoring Communication Customer Service Financial Management Foods Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
