Job Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Software Development Manager (SDM) will help to drive system architecture decisions, collaborating closely with the Director of Architecture and provide strategy and execution to Exostar's growth.
The SDM will serve as a transformational engineering technical leader providing insights to the leadership team on technology advancements for the Cloud, full software stack, ensuring automation and process scalability is at the forefront of strategic conversations, and building world class architectures.
The SDM will take a 'hands-on' role whilst leading and managing a team of one or more Software Engineers.

Essential Job Functions oDriving the technical and cloud architecture, configuration, and development of application software oCreating the overall architecture to leverage technical assets to meet business requirements.
oWorking with the product management team to plan product & technology roadmaps, and subsequent customer implementation rollouts.
oPlanning and maintaining the software development pipeline in a cloud environment.
oCommunicating cross-functionally to drive both engineering and product alignment.
oCollaborating with all partner teams to create shared product & technology roadmaps and deliver on the company vision.
oDriving Agile software development methods, process, and practice; aligned to architectural vision and modern workflows.
oLeading and managing a small team of software engineers to build, deploy and maintain architecture and ensuring connectivity with other systems/services.
oEstablishing metrics and processes for assessment and improvements.
oDesigning and developing innovative Proof-of-Concepts (POCs) and solutions, using existing and emerging technology platforms.
oBuilding awareness, increasing knowledge, and driving adoption of modern cloud technologies and architecture patterns, sharing customer and engineering benefits to gain buy-in.
oBeing a trusted advisor for a specific technology, platform, or capability domain, helping to shape use cases and implementation in an integrated manner.
You meet our must haves for this role if you have:
oBachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field oMinimum 7
years of software development, solution architect, or architect experience oMinimum 7
years of relevant technical experience in a leadership capacity or a keen desire and willingness to step into leadership/management role.

years of Agile software development, including 'hands-on' Scrum/Kanban experience adopting and adapting methodologies to deliver software releases.
o3
years of large-scale cloud transformation experience.
oExperience in designing software systems with security and privacy from the ground up.
oExperience in strategy, policymaking, proposal writing, participant engagement, requirements analysis and program / project management oExperience in one or more of the following domains:
Microsoft Azure Cloud, AWS,.
NET, Java, SharePoint, O365 integration o3
years of experience with architectural patterns, building APIs (application programming interfaces), micro services, event streams, and high throughput systems, with experience in a cloud environment.
o3
years building cloud native architectures, architecting enterprise applications on public cloud platforms and cloud ecosystems including Azure, AWS, or GCP.
o3
years architecting highly scalable and reliable back-end systems in production.
o3
years of experience with enterprise data, analytical architectures and data tools for Apache Spark, AI (Artificial Intelligence), and Machine Learning.
oExperience in design, development and operation of internet scale web applications leveraging IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) / PaaS (Platform as a Service) / SaaS (Software as a Service) delivery models.
oExcellent verbal and written communication skills.
oTechnical and architectural leadership with knowledge of both legacy and modern cloud based distributed systems.
oDeep knowledge of multiple architecture domains including application, platform, data, infrastructure, and/or security.
oDemonstrable experience operating at exacting standards of quality and accuracy within a fast-paced changing environment.
oAbility to influence business and IT leadership teams through proven collaboration skills.
