Job Description:
Provide platform architecture subject matter expertise for HCM platforms such as Oracle HCM. Provide platform architecture subject matter expertise for the Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, and Azure Cloud Platforms. Integration with cloud-based solution(s) that allows external, non-Client users to access the Client resources such as Client NextGen XMS or AMS systems. The Senior Analyst, Unix/Linux Systems Engineeris responsible for the administration. Those systems are on-prem and cloud-based. The Engineerwill have, and develop, skills in Oracle Solaris virtualization, Solaris Op-Center, RHEL Satellite, VMWare, converged hosting technologies, patch management, vulnerability management, shell/Bash/Perl/Python scripting, and automated configuration management. The Engineerwill have demonstrated the ability to apply critical thinking skills, aspire to learn functional, technical, and business processes, write technical documentation, and incident and problem reporting. Major Duties/
Responsibilities:
Responsible for administration of on-prem and cloud-based server environments utilizing operating systems including Solaris, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, VMWare, and Suse Linux. Support mission-critical SAP, WMS, Industry 4.0, and IoT systems, projects, and operational requests. Perform day-to-day Systems Engineeringactivities related to user(LDAP), volume/file system management, package management, patch management, file share, and backup and recovery. Install and configure various enterprise-wide infrastructure tools supporting configuration management, server and application monitoring, patch management, high availability, and virtualization. Assist with the monitoring performance analysis of existing applications and ensuring that the system is consistent with ongoing needs. Evaluate the potential for alternative solutions to support desired use cases at a reduced cost. Work with incident teams to solve/troubleshoot complex hardware and software failures, integration challenges, and configuration issues. Provides resolutions to an extensive range of complicated problems involving multiple teams and systems across multiple data centers Works under limited direction independently Administer supporting infrastructure tools namely Stash(Git repository), Bamboo, Puppet, RedHat Satellite, Solarwinds(monitoring) & ServiceNow or propose other viable solutions. Write technical documentation, operational procedures, systems documentation, and Incident and problem communications and reporting. Take part in the after-hours on-call rotation schedule and weekend activities as required. Scripting skills to automate day-to-day tasks. Ensure hardware & software licensing compliance for Oracle, RHEL servers. Work with internal and external auditors to provide evidence of compliance. Interface with Oracle, RHEL, VMWare and other vendors for technical support. Requirement:
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/
Responsibilities:
Minimum 5 years of Unix/Linux Server Administration experience Minimum 2 years supporting cloud-based production infrastructure Minimum 5 years supporting enterprise-class ERP or WMS or RDBMS servers Knowledge of virtualization and high availability technologies required Knowledge Solaris virtualization (CDOM, LDOM, Zone) required. Possesses strong network skills in protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, & NFS Experience in managing and using infrastructure tools such as Stash(Git repository), Bamboo, Puppet, RedHat Satellite, Solarwinds(monitoring), and ServiceNow a plus. Must have a demonstrated ability to apply critical thinking skills in a complex environment. Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize, show initiative and respond quickly in a fast-paced environment. Must be a team player and be comfortable working with geographically diverse teams. Experience creating roadmaps, conceptual designs, and transition plans. Understanding of Change, Incident, Problem, and Release Management processes. Works under limited direction independently Minimum Education:
Bachelor of Computer Science degree preferred. 5 or more years of progressive Unix/Linux Server Administration experience. Preferred Certification:
RHEL/Solaris/VMWare/AWS/Azure certifications
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
