The Sr Manager of Business Finance is responsible for the management of finance employees involved in program financial management and analysis, monthly and quarterly accounting close processes, and process improvement. You will be responsible for providing business guidance and program control support to Operational Leaders to achieve financial and operational goals, as well as recommending actions to improve progress and performance. The position will report to the Director of Business Finance. The position is based in Herndon VA. As the leader of the program control team for this business unit, the Sr Manager of Business Finance will be responsible for oversight of all aspects of operational finance for their supported program(s). This position positively affects company performance and positions the incumbent for future growth and development opportunities. The successful candidate will have a strong management and program control background with significant experience in government contracting. In this role you will be:
Responsible for providing lead level financial support to a Business Segment of Program Managers in the preparation and analysis of complex project financial data and other complex contract, project or business-related task Provide pricing strategy and cost volume support / development for new business opportunities in Business Segment and potentially other Segments as well within the Business Unit. Support monthly business rhythms for both the program and finance organizations, including customer meetings as needed. Partner with program manager(s) to develop and support monthly and annual program financial forecast. In addition, guide five year financial budget process. Liaison between operations and other administrative support organizations on financial issues. Interfaces with subcontractors, vendors, and customers as required. Provide cost, schedule and funding planning, reporting, monitoring and analysis support to Program Managers including Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Basis of Estimates (BOEs) and development of time-phased budgets and schedules. Provide finance inputs for project set up in compliance with contractual terms, conditions and requirements. Prepare program financial Estimates at Complete (EAC) and meet deadlines for submission requirements. Ensure program revenue and profit is recorded in compliance with the EAC. Identify project risks and opportunities and provide analytical contribution in working resolution with PM, Contracts, Procurement and Finance/Accounting. Support accounts receivable as required during the billing processing. Monitor billing status and unbilled issues, working with Finance, Contracts, Accounting and PMO to resolve issues in a timely manner. Oversee preparation of subcontractor and vendor accruals as services/goods are received in accordance with GAAP and internal policies to ensure that the project s cost/commitment is accurately captured and reported internally and externally. Be responsible for the management of the finance employees involved in program control and analysis. Responsible for the employment, training, motivation and discipline of assigned employees. Ad hoc support as needed. Direct, implement, and administer formal aspects of program control for their team in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, and government regulations. Knowledge of general and corporate business practices, government contracting regulations and principles, and accounting and finance principles. Must be versed in various contract vehicles, i.e., CPAF, CPFF, LOE, FPLOE, FFP, T&M, IDIQs, etc. Preferred knowledge of FAR/DFAR, DCAA compliance and audits. Qualifications To be successful in this role you will have:
Bachelor's degree in area of specialty or equivalent and 8
years of experience in the field or in a related area. 4 or more years of experience leading and developing a team. 10 or more years of experience in a government contracting environment. Advanced Proficiency in MS Excel Required. Advanced knowledge of Deltek Costpoint Project and Revenue modules required. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a collaborative team with a focus on high professional standards, strong follow-up and successful project execution. US Citizenship Required.
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
Accounting, Corporate FinanceEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
