PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineer 6, in Herndon, VA.



Job Description:


-Candidate provides systems and software engineering expertise to the Fairfax Lab in support of multiple B-1 and KC-135 aircraft and system support activities.


-The activity requires multi-discipline and cross-functional experience and knowledge to assist the B-1 support Prime in maintaining system readiness, as well as the KC-135 system support Prime in strategizing and developing and employing satellite network based data link communication solutions to provide operational and current situational awareness to the user and customer focus in supporting a rapidly changing program environment.
-The selected candidate will support the team in planning, development, integration, testing and deployment of a Windows 10 Operating System based environment supporting a US Air Force Bomber community customer. Knowledge and experience with previous and currently deployed Windows based systems supporting the B-1 LCTP system, specific hardware driver interaction and unique User interface experience is key.


-Past experience with other Windows based systems on other DOD and Government platforms will be a key discriminator.
-The selected candidate will assist the team and provide expertise with analysis, design and system engineering related to satellite communication based networking in an austere environment.


-Specifically this includes integrating Iridium Next modem capability into the Global Secure Network Connection (GSNC) system and supporting all necessary activities therein as well as interfacing concepts and networking engineering to support data communications with TSAS for user consumption.


-This also includes conceptual and developmental expertise to support integration and deployment of the system onto multiple air platforms and to develop a seamless and shared user experience.
-Other system level support activities include evaluation and testing of various system related hardware elements including failure mode analysis and potential causal determination as well as assisting in lab function, capability and readiness support.



Education /
Experience:


-Bachelor's and 20 or more years' experience, Master's with 18 or more years' experience or PhD with 15 or more years' experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry



Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
